Fucking #Microsoft #Windows changing my keyboard settings from 'International' to US.

FUCK. I use ¿¡ñóáéíóú. Why the fuck Windows changes this setting on its fucking own?

[#]Linux never does this.

@joelpomales Windows also liked to fuck with my audio device selection randomly without asking me. It's embarrassing how a billion dollar company cannot get simple things like that right.

@joelpomales yep! It happens to me too.

The keyboard shortcut to change keyboards can also trigger even if it isnt set.

And there are certain programs that can apparently force Windows into an English keyboaard layout. (Though this particular thing hasnt happened to me in Windows 11ista)

@afreytes bro. I run Linux on my personal machines. It never ever does this. At all.

I've developed muscle memory for this keyboard layout for over 20+ years. And then all of a sudden, stupid Windows decides "you know what? Boom! US keyboard!".

Fucking POS.

@joelpomales Yep, it does this to me every day. Does it think I have changed my keyboard or something? Just a delightful OS.

@joelpomales I highly encourage you to ditch #Windows and fully use #Linux. If you can't do it on Linux, you can run a Windows 10 or Windows 11 in a #KVM virtual machine and experience near native performance in Windows including full GPU performance

@nicholasr_ITSulu I've been 100% full time on Linux since at least 2010, maybe before.

I tolerate Windows for work, primarily because O365 on Linux and OSX is useless.

@sandwich @nicholasr_ITSulu for better or worse, my use case doesn't require high powered GPU. I do game, and for that I have a #SteamDeck and a PS4. I don't do anything that requires heavy GPU usage on the desktop.

Heck, I still have a Thinkpad X220 around that runs #Linux #Mint just fine on 8GB of RAM.

@nicholasr_ITSulu @joelpomales how to run photoshop on Linux?

@maarcis_lv @nicholasr_ITSulu you can't. If you truly need Photoshop you need to stay on Mac or Windows.

There are alternatives, but I am not a graphic artist. I don't know how good they are vis-a-vis Photoshop.

@maarcis_lv @joelpomales

The ideal way to run it, especially in the future, is using #LinuxWine

https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?iId=17&sClass=application

When looking at this link, pay attention to the Wine version. It is currently 10.0+ I am sure those scores will go up if tested today.

Running in a VM is slower and requires more resources and licenses, but it does work well.

@nicholasr_ITSulu @maarcis_lv or better yet, find an alternative.

Photoshop is proprietary, expensive, they steal people's art with their AI bullsh*t. And so on.

@scobra1cz that's the thing. I don't.

It just randomly decides to change itself. And this is not a Windows 11 thing. This has been happening since Windows 7.

@scobra1cz nay. I'm telling you. Windows has done this for ever. I don't know if it's after an update (probably). But I am bilingual and I always configure my keyboard this way, and Windows always manages to crap on itself.

Linux doesn't do this.

@joelpomales I'm using 2 - 3 different keyboard profiles for almost 20 years and I never saw this happen on any Windows version.

Are you using US version of Windows? Then I can imagine Windows could switch the keyboard to default (US) after update.

Are you sure you're not hitting the shortcut? It's Shift+Ctrl on Windows 11.
