I am 100% sure that I've written this toot before almost word for word.

So, among the settings I always change on windows is this: If plugged in (i.e. not on battery) then do NOT sleep

Yet somehow it always goes back to some arbitrary setting where the PC puts itself to sleep.

It's not perfect, like any other software isn't, but Linux Mint has been a joy to use.

I thought I would ease myself back into Linux with Mint then jump off into one of the tryhard distros but... why do that? It's pretty cozy here in Mint, not perfect as I said, but pretty great so far.

[#]GameIdea Punch-Out, but you only punch nazis (lemme know if this already exists!)

Each stage is divided into two phases. In phase one, 3 cards each with different people are shown, one will obviously be a nazi. Repeat twice with nazi harder to spot. The faster you punch the nazi the more perks you will have in phase two. Where you have to beat a nazi boss (punch-out style).

However, if you don' t beat the nazi boss, the regular people you didn't punch will step in and beat the boss with you.

There used to be a person, a leftist, on local radio. That almost always referred to the USA as "the empire".

Long dead now, and sorely missed. It shames me to say that I didn't understand them until fairly recently.

Today I'm wondering where the empire is going. And I worry that, in between trying to stay employed and being entertained, maybe I should be more concerned about what is happening.

It seems like a dark age looming, but is it? Or am I just being gaslighted into being scared?

I know there's more important things. But this change, man, OCD is getting the best of me here because I can't get over it.

The worst thing is that I'm thinking of pausing monthly support because it's hard to support something that does not bring joy. And since the change is aimed at large projects/big teams then surely they really don't need my support, right?

I admit I'm having a weird hang up and I'm trying to process it/think about it more objectively.

I just watched a French action/thriller movie. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have a second of CGI anywhere; because all the action seemed real and "possible" and made by humans. It was very refreshing to see.

Had very short nightmare. I was watching the news going on about a military insurrection in one of the Caribbean islands (not here). Armed forces were on the verge of overthrowing the local government. But the news footage was from the perspective of the soldiers. Like almost an FPS. And then I realized that I had a controller in my hands and that I was controlling the soldiers. It was all a videogame that looked like real news coverage.

Ever since the 4.0 pre releases, I've always been gung-ho about moving all my projects to the new version everytime a new beta or stable version comes out. That's a few dozen small projects. Peanuts.

This is the first time I don't feel like doing that anymore. I'm pulling on the brakes.

Been years, decades even, since the last time I felt the need to actually physically slap someone in the face.
