Yep, this tracks. Instead of saying where he stands on LGBTQ+ issues (not Micro.blog, but Manton himself), and in lieu of explaining his decision to retain Vincent Ritter despite his anti-LGBTQ+ record, he opts to hide and hope it all goes away.

Manton always somehow viewed us as “competing”, but I never saw it that way. Micro.blog is a superior blogging tool, period.

But where community is concerned, man, what a trainwreck over there. And it comes from the top.

@maique I’m sorry, friend. ❤️ Honestly, I recommend moving things to your own setup with a neutral cloud provider that you trust. Manton has done an excellent job marketing Micro.blog as “the” place to be on the IndieWeb, but the real IndieWeb is owning your own stuff and not being tied to any single platform.

@maique FWIW, I stopped using V's products after last year's incident. It was very evident for me about his beliefs since it wasn't the first incident.

@adam he's happy to push this aside entirely and just block you. It's a very simple question you've asked and he's seemingly incapable of giving a direct answer on the topic which is really concerning. It seems to be the classic playbook of just avoiding straight answers with distractions or pushback.

@adam Is it possible to make 'micro' payments into our omg.lol time fund at all? It's tiny, I know, but I want to re-direct my £1 a month mb fund into my omg.lol time bank if at all possible. If not I'll just save it up and top up as and when :)

@adam why does he keep posting about this? like this is some "chat, i gotta tell you, this adam guy" spilling-tea-live-on-twitch kinda energy

perhaps if he thought of himself as less of a Personality™ who needed to update his followers as to his muting preferences, and did a little more, you know, addressing the issue at hand, this wouldn't still be a thing

@samf It’s because this is the only thing he has. When the facts don’t work in your favor and you refuse to face them, you can only control damage by establishing an alternative narrative. That’s precisely what he’s doing.
