Food shopping trip on my ebike at -16Β°C (4Β°F). Eep, my face is cold, and even my fingers.
The wind gets up under my helmet, and my gloves really aren't thick enough for this level of cold. I wore my warmer parka, which is rated for -30Β°F, so I was actually overheating other than my face and fingers.

@gcvsa Do you notice any performance hit on the ebike from the cold?

@whknott No, but mostly because I don't ever ride that far. My town is 4 miles end to end.

@gcvsa I was thinking of acceleration performance too, but yeah I can see how that wouldn't really tax your battery

@whknott I keep my ebike indoors, and if I'm going to park it in the cold, I'll take the battery inside with me to keep it warm.

@gcvsa I'd keep it indoors in the warm weather too. Kids stole the front tire off my mountain bike when I left it locked on my front porch for less than a day, and it was hidden behind a big bush too.
Still kinda bitter about that one actually. My fault for trying to help the neighborhood kids fix their bikes, I guess.

@whknott I live alone in a 2BR townhouse, so the living room is my bike parking.
