@juliewebgirl @elfin I am told you can change the TTL on your laptop's packets to increment it by 1 so that when the packets hit the tower they look like they are coming from the phone. This is a common QoS hack they use that's easy to defeat.

Can you figure out which connection laptop and phone use?

Maybe, once you know the connection type of your phone, you can set the Wifi router to only offer that particular one.

Am suspecting that your laptop – for whatever reason – uses a legacy connection type with less bandwidth.

And your phone a modern one.
