Someone somewhere on the nets:

Nina Kalinina?
I don't know this author, or her bona fides, and neither, it seems, does Wikipedia.

FWIW, my name is very, very common, there is even a freaking politician Nina Kalinina who literally ran in a major election... And even she doesn't have a Wikipedia page yet. At least there's Nina Kalinina from Alice Gear Aegis https://alicegearaegis.fandom.com/wiki/Nina_Kalinina

@nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt Upside of my real name: No name collisions with anyone, ever.

Downside: SO MANY mangled spellings...

(There are maybe 20 living people in the world with my legal last name.)

@nina_kali_nina i'm not really a competent wikipedia editor, but maybe @jessamyn could make. jessamyn, i know you usually just do dead people but i'm kind of surprised nina doesn't have a wikipedia page yet. this is her latest thing, and it's a delight, in addition to being useful hacker archaeology:

plz just ignore me if this isn't the sort of thing a person asks another person to do (or on someone's behalf without their permission)... i really have no idea how wikipedia works behind the scenes. maybe it's all like this. maybe it's magic.

@deobald @nina_kali_nina I can definitely take a look. And it's absolutely OK to ask. Wikipedia has a lot of rules about what qualifies as "notable" but if I can find enough good reliable sources according to their rules I'd be happy to set up a little page.

@deobald @jessamyn wow, thanks, but I really think it's nothing noteworthy of an encyclopedia page 😅

@nina_kali_nina @jessamyn “noteworthy” hard to pin down. i can’t imagine anyone else doing this work (it didn’t happen until now) and i can imagine a world which asks “how did we get here?” — a question which this one document provides answers for, across a pretty big gap. a gap in a product that produced a trillion-dollar corporation. i think the value of your work is self-evident.

i might care a lot more about software archaeology than most people, though. 🤷‍♀️ 😂

@deobald it's not like I did an original research/interviews/etc - I basically combined multiple sources together in a narrative. Some people certainly have a much better insight than me about the topic

@deobald @nina_kali_nina Noteworthy is a very Wikipedia-specific term of art in this case and requires mentions in what Wikipedia considers reliable sources. I'll poke around and see what I turn up.
