Parents have kicked their kids out of the house and "cut them off" assuming the workplace, business environment, and housing are like they used to be. They don't believe their own kids, much less anyone else's.

@jeffjarvis Are they wrong? In my local app for local news Sinclair News is putting out an Info on why our power bills are rising. Shutting a dirty coal plant is the entire reason. They also threaten that the grid will not meet future needs without saying anything about the wind and solar the state is bringing online.
So, I used to read WaPo and NYT. I am part of the 70%.

So maybe work to save your profession instead of attacking news consumers who really dislike what its devolved into. 99% of “journalists” cant even bring themselves to call a nazi salute a nazi salute. If this is what most people see instead of an investigative report about something by ProPublica, they'd rightfully conclude that mainstream media is not telling them what they need to know. They might even conclude that perhaps the media is whitewashing.
