@fredbrooker @mizblueprint @arth I guess it depends on how people perceive their use of Mastodon and other services in the fediverse.

Personally, my Mastodon use is probably 95% public. I don't send anything truly sensitive over PMs since they aren't encrypted. Everything I publish on here I consider public, like a tiny blog. But that's just me.

Other people might have a different perspective or purpose for this and other services.

The DSA includes specific rules for very large online platforms and search engines. These are online platforms and intermediaries that have more than 45 million users per month in the EU. They must abide by the strictest obligations of the Act.

Please review the "Tailored Assymmetrical Obligations" section of the linked document. There are some provisions that apply only to the largest online platforms, but all platforms have obligations.
