Toot

Imagine the fediverse but if user level domain blocks worked to actually remove people you want to block from your mentions instead of just hiding them from your own personal feed so you're oblivious to what your own thread looks like to other people (a hot fucking mess of people you don't want anywhere near you) :thinkhappy:

Having their replies hidden in your mentions also means you can't even report them to your admin. Truely, Mastodon provides an "ethical" and "safe" social network utopia

@Shrigglepuss From what I see of the gotosocial devs it seems like this is possible in gotosocial, you can decide who are allowed to comment on your thread, and even do manual moderation if you want to, so at least someone is working on it :)

@sotolf I'm seriously so excited for GoToSocial, they're the only fediverse project I'm putting my money behind, even. Once it reaches a stable release I'll very likely be moving over to a GoToSocial instance

@Shrigglepuss We've been on a gotosocial instance for over a year now, (alpha.polymaths.social) And now we're on the current release at polymaths.social at least as a user ( @amin is adminestering our instance) on a ~30 user instance it's rock solid and working really nicely :) So I think you're right to be exited, we don't have edits yet, so I have to keep looking like an imbecile when I write wrong, but apart from that I don't really feel like much is missing :)

@sotolf @Shrigglepuss @amin Also, edits are already on the main branch IIRC, and are coming in the near future.

Correct, they'll be in the next release.

The GtS devs extended their vacation, which just let out a few days ago, so they're back to work on that now, I figure it'll be within a month or so that everything's ready for the release.

@sotolf @Shrigglepuss

Officially speaking, it's in beta. Which means they consider essential functionality finished and are now working on nice-to-haves.

@sotolf @Shrigglepuss

Yep, you can decide who can like, reply, and boost each visibility of post. And one of the options is to require approval, the requests to interact will show up in the settings dashboard since there's not much support for that in clients yet.

@amin @Shrigglepuss Appearantly tobi was saying that they are able to do approvals through tusky, and their own gotosocial mastodon-fe too :)

@sotolf @amin Always great to see things coming together nicely (and crucially not rushed) over there
