A bit late, I guess, but I've finally deleted the four dormant accounts I had on X. All of the timelines were dominated by Musk, Tice, Tommy Robinson and other crud. Relieved to be gone.
Meta stuff has been in suspended animation for a long time. I guess it'll all be next.

@sellathechemist It's great to have you on Mastodon ... I hope you find it a sufficient replacement.
BTW ... I met we have some friends in common ... one day we should explore that.
Meanwhile ...
Happy New Year!

@ColinTheMathmo Indeed. I'm quite happy with Mastodon and the more time goes by the more I want to use other FOSS type software.

@sellathechemist Congratulations and welcome!
I finally quit Twitter last month after 14 years, mostly quite active until Musk bought it. It was hard. But I'm ever so glad I quit.
Been here a while, active since 2022, enjoying it greatly!

@Karen5Lund Thanks. I've actually been here since 2022ish but had left my various accounts dormant. It seemed a bit of a wrench and some friends and colleagues think I was insane to leave given that I had 12k followers. My answer is that if you base your decisions on numerical indicators you lose your soul and your moral bearings. I call it Goodhart's curse.
