I can't say anywhere is "safe" right now, but the US is going to be very dangerous very soon.

@serge OK, so where, generally speaking, did you go?
I'm being serious. My family fled Poland in the 30s. My friends and I discuss this routinely, but the consensus seems to be that there is nowhere safe to go.

I live in Canada.
It's not perfect, antisemitism-wise, bu it's a huge jump from the US in that way.

@serge I live about 30 miles south of the Canadian border, and Canada has always been my primary escape plan (like most Americans, I guess.)
Someone else I follow on here did just try and convince me it was no refuge (she lives in Montreal) citing many of the same issues we have here in the States.
I think I'm just gonna go to bed and pull the covers over my head.

This is a very complicated question, and there are many components to it.
Objectively, if you're afraid of anti-Jewish violence, then Canada is safer because it is overall safer in term of violence.
That doesn't mean antisemitism doesn't exist, nor does it mean that violence is impossible, but the reduction in violence overall means you're safer from violence.
Many American believe Canada is a panacea, a cold utopia, and that is very much not true, as I imagine you know. Canada is no utopia, and life in Canada has been especially hard for my wife and I. If you follow me for any extended period, you'll read me complain about Canada quite a bit, but it's still overall better than the US IMHO.
Since you mentioned Montreal, Quebec, and Montreal, has an especially "complicated" relationship with its Jews and always has.
I am afraid of antisemitism in Vancouver, just not of being violently attacked over it.

@serge Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am aware of the, um, less-welcoming tendencies of the French portion of the country.
For me, if it was just "normal" ongoing anti-semitism, I wouldn't leave. I've been in violent confrontations with antisemites many times since I was a kid. I'm more afraid of the fascism at large and it becoming industrialized, which I'm still not sure is going to happen here - to Jews.

@serge I saw a post here yesterday linking to an article of the German "Jüdische Allgemeine" newspaper that seriously debated whether Trump is good or bad for Jews. 🧐
Musk's arm gave the final answer.
