I need some more information about an issue, so here's a general question: does the media files load up for you at https://mementomori.social on Firefox? Personally have not yet been able to reproduce. Using Cloudflare R2z

The issue: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/33640

Changed Cloudflare SSL settings to less strict.

If you (anyone) see this and use Firefox, do the images show up now at https://mementomori.social?

This issue bugs me, because I still can't see the problem on any of my machines (Mac, Windows, Linux). It's difficult to fix something you don't see.

Another thing I just did, I set HTTP/3 off. Not sure if these things help.

Still can't reproduce of this super weird Firefox issue. Many people see the images, some don't.

The saga continues.

Confirmed and reproduced:

Image problem occurs if the server uses Cloudflare R2 and the user uses Firefox (or based on Firefox) browser that has ECH enforced without fallback and Studies not allowed. Studies is enabled by default so most of the users do not see this problem.

Cloudflare has moved ECH under Pro plan and it was disabled by default. I purchased Pro and switched it on.

I myself did not see images yet, but it might be my DNS cache. Gotta try again later.

If you use Firefox like explained in this post and see images at https://mementomori.social - then I succeeded fixing this.

A very corner case thing!

@rolle On the same computer but on Windows 10 22H2 the images load on Firefox just fine.

Same thing on MacOS.

Apparently Linux Mint maintains their own build of Firefox that they update through the traditional apt repository instead of the snap package manager Canonical uses nowadays for Firefox.

Could it be that the build maintained by the Linux Mint developers is missing some certificate related stuff that might cause this?

@slake No I don't mean you should change http3 flag to false, I set it to false from the Cloudflare's end.

However, now I see why they get fixed for me, every time I restart Firefox my network.dns.echconfig.fallback_to_origin_when_all_failed is set to true. I don't know why. Because that flag fixes it.

This is so weird.
