Wth, Mastodon web app (glitch-soc) makes me feel very stupid:/ Great UX; I can't find how I can block words/hashtags. The app has three places with settings (two of those have gears on the icons), and it's not in any of those. Not next to the blocked accounts, either

Edit: found it, it was in hidden behind a "burger" in one of the "gears". Mmmm, peak UI

@nina_kali_nina Unless glitch-soc is doing it differently, it's done through Preferences > Filters.

@mkj you're not wrong, but there are three different Preferences, and the Filters button is hidden outside of the area I expect it to be

@evv42 it's full of red herrings! Too easy to miss a tiny button outside of the normal interface

@nina_kali_nina Large cog wheel > hamburger menu > Filters seems to be it, if desktop Firefox's phone emulation is to be believed and glitch-soc does it the same as mainline Mastodon.

@mkj @evv42 correct! But who decided it's a good idea to put a hamburger menu exactly where the right panel was? I was fully expecting it to have all the standard icons (home/notifications/explore etc), and it is a completely different menu...

@nina_kali_nina How odd. My instance doesn’t have the second settings button. I was wondering why you were so confused when I’ve always found filtering straightforward. This explains it (but doesn’t explain where the second button is from).
