@JuliusGoat Liberalism in the hands of the US Democratic Party, in my opinion became an empty shell, a blunt instrument used too often to justify power.

Liberalism became rhetorical and it’s principles of universality were slowly but surely forgotten, as no challenge to the power of the corporate structure was to be allowed.

A hollow fake liberalism was easy for the alt-right to pick apart, and yet they kept pretending everything was allright, and all that would just go away..

@JuliusGoat Perhaps this was unavoidable, due to power structure and deep unequalities in the US system.

Perhaps that hierarchical structure simply sucks the life out and flattens any ideology simply into an exercise of power.
