@mvexel I read somewhere that the extreme amount of data it needlessly collects made it look like the real purpose of the app was mass data collection and they had to make it do something helpful and engaging just so people would download and install it.

@AtanasE I think Americans don't really know or care enough about privacy and where their data lives for China to have to put in much effort to learn whatever you can extract from people watching trillions of videos.
