According to the comments section in a FB post I saw last week, a lot of dog owners in Toronto feel that when they have a bag of dog poop to dispose of, and the city garbage cans are full, it is perfectly acceptable to just throw the poop bags on the ground instead of, you know, taking the bags home and disposing of them in their own garbage.
This is just one example of the kind of entitled attitude that shows just how fucked we are.

@Jgmeadows Certainly not a Toronto problem. Everywhere.

@zenheathen Certainly not; just one example of a widespread societal attitude. The attitude that put Trump into power and will likely put Poilievre into power.

@Jgmeadows Remember. A dog needs emptying every day, not just at Christmas.
I appreciate there is some emotional return to keeping a dog. But it still puzzles me why people choose to spend the rest of their lives picking up shit.
There's no Poo Fairy. But there is a Poo Leprechaun that delights in tossing the full bags into the brambles. It really winds up the Faeries.

@jbond I am fully aware that a dog shits daily; please give me a little bit of credit. But that does not excuse the dog owner from dealing with the waste properly.

@Jgmeadows I've seen those dog poop bags on the ground in the woods, there isn't even a garbage bin in the area. They can't be arsed to even transport the bag outdoors to the nearest bin, never mind if that bin is empty or full.

@bjb Iβve seen that as well in my area.

@Jgmeadows our small city has bag stations and lots of waste bins, yet people still think their poochie's poop is a gift to others. They're probably the same people who change diapers and leave them on restaurant tables.
