I don't think it's #retromania at all. I see people my own age, who were online in the 2000s pine away for the Internet that wasn't there during that time. And I think it's because us Internet ancient old farts, like me, who have been on it since 1993 tell too many stories "How are you so offensively mouthy?" Well, I learned from salty academics on #usenet when I was 13 about the art of the flame. While I was one of the first to be on the internet at work exploring the wonderful world of Gopher, once www came out I had to have it at home.

Anyone else have memories of the sound of the modem connecting.
