How do you see cars with modified internal combustion vehicles with loudened exhaust systems?

Boosts welcome for reach.

@elight ill be honest, I’m one of those people.

My Mini is modified for track, and I do take it out and play with it in controlled and safe circumstances.

I also firmly believe that driving should not be a life skill, but rather a hobby. One that you practice on closed corses.

Daily travel should be via public transit. I wish where I lived invested more into that.

So I guess I enjoy the loud cars, but wish there was no need for them to be on public streets.

@greg I support this response, as someone in the "Get them off the road now" space.

@greg Also, I'll be honest: I call them "Fast and the Furious LARPers" as my passive agressive coping strategy as I am completely unable to stop them from driving irresponsibly in my neighborhood.

@greg @elight I’m 100% with you, I’ve often said that people who ask “what about the people who enjoy driving cars?” Then it can be their hobby, and they can do it at the safety of a closed course. Like requiring gun owners to go to a firing range to fire their weapons.

And likely car ownership would become lesson common because of transport costs and upkeep — you’d rent a car unless you were very wealthy and owned your own that you stored at the track. Which is the situation for most private pilots now. A very similar kind of hobby in terms of vehicle ownership and storage (but less so for usage since pilots actually fly out in the real world.)

@cam We won't as rolling coal is not part of the survey. Pedantic but there you go.

@elight Definitely a line between having a loud exhaust and using it. Most modified cars can putt around without too much noise, but become quite loud as their foot goes down. Loud bikes on the other hand...
