Watching #TheDayOfTheJackal and one guy is “writing a program to make a 3D printed sniper rifle” but he’s got one arm so he has to dictate the code to the other guy.

HE STARTS SPEAKING RAW GCODE while the other guy types it

And I have no one to talk to about this

@shanselman He is an expert gun maker and knows raw code. There are people that could dictate Apple II Assembly Language :) And it must be amazing meltable plastic to handle high velocity bullets? rifling? No cleanup of plastic tags in the barrel. Amazing.

@ivolimmen virtually no one writes bespoke gcode, they generate it. They never dictate it. He could have done voice to text. His main arm worked fine, he could have typed it with on finger (it’s like G2 A2 S10, etc). It’s the intersection of 3D printing and pop culture. Not related to arms.

@shanselman you can watch real live machinists on you tube dealing with their machines in terms of raw GCODE. It’s like the past 85 years of computing hasn’t happened for them. The ultimate UX disaster.
