@nkizz I'd wager it's a manual patchboard*. Since this was before we became chronically online, a computer only needed to scream at another one on occasion, and so I guess it would make sense to have a way to wire it to a phone line that was easier than messing with cables manually behind each computer, but that didn't demand the complexity of a pbx.
