All that gift-sewing wasn't my last crafty hurrah of 2024 - the "fade" stashbuster sweater I started in September was. My (perfect) New Year's Eve was just me, sports on TV, and two attempts at a collar. (It always takes me two tries, I stink at picking up stitches.) Love the end result. Am now officially obsessed with turning my random single skeins into sweaters.

@lyoca
Wow, so pretty! I would also like to do this... but never done a fade, seems intimidating. Especially to get the sleeves to match the body like you did! Just Weighing the yarn, is that how you did it?

@nobyeni Yes! Weighing and percentage math. I definitely kept a notebook as I went - no way I was making the sleeves match if I didn't. 😆
I can go into detail of what I did if it's helpful. The very short version is that I split the yarn between body and sleeves based on stitch count, and then each yarn got faded based on weight. It wasn't too difficult, just a bit to keep track of.
