I needed something portable to work on this past week, so I decided to crochet a hat. As usual, I winged the gauge and messed up the math, so it came out too short, but nothing that picking up stitches and knitting for a few centimeters couldn't fix.

All that gift-sewing wasn't my last crafty hurrah of 2024 - the "fade" stashbuster sweater I started in September was. My (perfect) New Year's Eve was just me, sports on TV, and two attempts at a collar. (It always takes me two tries, I stink at picking up stitches.) Love the end result. Am now officially obsessed with turning my random single skeins into sweaters.

Project 3 was not planned, but as I was cutting pieces for what is now Project 4, I realized I didn't have enough fabric for the lining. I really wanted to sew right then and there, so I made this "tray that folds into a pouch" instead. Quick, pretty easy, and the 8-minute video was a breeze to follow. PS - Sewing videos on youtube are a serious rabbit hole! #sewing

Project 2 was a Twice as Nice Organizer, and it was twice as far beyond my skill level as the first pouch. Ha. I'm proud of the interior, but that bias binding was a STRUGGLE. I will probably pick it out and redo, but I need a breather from this project. Onward to the next one...

Back in July, my mom and I ice-dyed panels cut from an old bedsheet, for the heck of it. At the end of the day, Mom gave me hers and said, "Make me something for Christmas."
I decided to sew a series of pouches and organizers that she can use in project bags and around the house. First up: a tiny triangle pouch. I'm a relatively inexperienced sewist; this was my first piecework and zipper. I'm pretty happy with it. #sewing

Have had kind of a rough go of things the past couple months - I lost my Leeloo-cat in August, and work has been difficult. I tried Sea Glass (colorwork cardigan) and Stromboli (lace pullover) and just cannot get my free-time brain into anything that requires attention/focus. Another simple, soothing, top-down, stash-diving pullover, on the other hand...
(No pattern, just winging again.)
