@Nixer Because the AI models that are used in AI are trained off of art from artists that never wanted their art to be trained off of

I mean, that was always the case, among a host of other reasons. AI Generated Imagery (it doesn't meet the qualifications for the term "Art") also distracts from the long hard work that artists do by putting up images that were created but a computer brute forcing it, using huge amounts of electricity.
Conversely, AI generated imagery can be a really good way to prototype something, to get a quick visual reference, and can be really nice to look at. It's also an interesting subject in general because of how it's made, which is why we allow it on TechHub.

Local to the server, or incoming from other servers too?
I would say you shouldn't try to ban incoming content from across the network unless there's some serious violation going on, but whether or not to platform it is an entirely different question: it's a question of what kind of community are you trying to build on your server. Does banning AI generated imagery fall in line with that? Would someone posting AI generated content create a detriment to the server? What are you trying to do, and what will help you do it?
Personally, I wouldn't ban it, I would just ask people to use good judgment. But this isn't something you should be asking other people to decide for you.
At the end of the day, you are the one who has to run your server, you are the one who has to deal with the outcomes of things, good and bad. You shouldn't be running a server that you don't want to. Figure out what is best for the community YOU want to RUN, and do that.

@Raccoon It's a detriment to creators that put time, effort and love into their art. I myself use IP blocks and ASN blocks to block certain companies from scraping image data from my server but apparently sometimes they're persistent enough and bypass that. I am tired of fighting against AI I don't want to see it anymore posted by my users. People outside of the server can post that stuff I don't care but personally I'll mute them so I don't have to see the slop that gets posted
My server is a furry server and I want to make a community that includes artists. It's not fair to them if they have to fight AI but the platform allows people to post AI that uses their art for training data. It is unacceptable that people make AI models that blatantly disrespect the artist by not respecting their wish to not have their art trained against
