Recovering, debugging and "fixing" one of the earlier German cube-sats:
https://media.ccc.de/v/38c3-hacking-yourself-a-satellite-recovering-beesat-1
(also, quite fun and interesting one)

@blinry I liked "We we're not trained for this", kind of part 2 of last year's talk by a Polish hacker group. They had discovered that a train company manipulated trains to stop when being serviced by competitors. Was interesting to hear about the unbelievable continuation, and the talk was entertaining, too. https://media.ccc.de/v/38c3-we-ve-not-been-trained-for-this-life-after-the-newag-drm-disclosure

I liked this one:
https://media.ccc.de/v/38c3-euclid-das-weltraumteleskop-180-millionen-galaxien-sind-ein-guter-anfang
A mix of (a little) astronomy and cosmology, problem solving with the telescope and impressive images.
