One for the FOSS Devs out there. I volunteer with a local charity that provides Galaxy Tabs free to digitally disenfranchised, mostly elderly, people. I'm pretty elderly myself but have spent half my life dabbling in tech so I provide some tech support. Most of the issue arise from overly complicated apps and websites with too many pop ups and options. Often people will click/tap a button and sit there waiting for a result not noticing an obscure confirm dialog has appeared in a corner or... 1/2

(cont) even off screen unless you scroll to find it. There are also security issues. Tabs come with Samsung and Google apps by default. Cookie and ad blocking requires getting rid of Chrome, ideally Gmail too but it's tricky because they 'need' a Google account to use 'Play'. Please will someone create a de-Googled Android that's simple to use and secure by default? As far as I know existing alternative OS are not available for Tabs and in any case are too complex.

Thanks. I might try it on mine (the charity gave me one). Not going to convince existing users to change but might persuade the charity to let me 'upgrade' new ones before they hand them over to clients.
