Join me in doing the #52BookClub in 2025 and fill 52 prompts with the books you read! I’ve discovered such great #books this way (and I like checking off boxes). It’s helped expand my horizons when it comes to #reading!
My favorite 2025 prompts: “pun in the title” & “set in a country with an active volcano”, but there are other great ones.
Challenges like this have helped me get back into my reading habit. No need to read 52 books though! 😌

Something for the data nerds (= you): While #Goodreads is, for several reasons, garbage, it does show me this nice breakdown of when I read a book vs. when it was written.
Unfortunately, I cannot zoom in. But at least each dot is identifiable via mouseover - it then shows the book, author, year read, and year published.

@swoonie Other hobbies (and work), I'd say. I hardly read anything during grad school and my first jobs after that - all the dots that are there in the diagram represent comic book compilations (that are faster to read for me).
It took me a bit of commitment to restart my reading habit in 2021.

@JensJot The amount of books you read from 2021 looks truly impressive.
I love that vertical time axis. Mind you, I read a wee bit of literature from classical Greece over the years - calls for a log scale!

@swoonie I have few other hobbies and tend to read quite fast.
And yes, books from antiquity might make the data look… spread out 😅
