Oh no. Just realised I don't have a simple line in port on my laptop. I need a sound card.

Any recommendation on a simple USB sound card that might have MIDI in/out as well? I'm running #Linux so compatibility might be an issue.

@bluebirch FWIW I've used M-Audio Fast Track without hassle on Linux. Other M-Audio branded stuff I've used without problems, it's just recognised as USB class devices that work out of the box.

I personally have no experience with this piece of kit but it looks like it has what you need, and a quick search suggests people get it running on Linux just fine.
