Roading projects are expensive and take years. Public transport can be scaled up in weeks or months. Active transport networks are cheaper and quicker to construct than roads.

It's a no-brainer, but unfortunately Aotearoa has a VERY small-minded minister of transport whose party is in hock to the car and trucking lobbies.

@tcnicholls Recently it’s been proven that car traffic operates like a gas… it occupies all space, wether more or less.
