Oh no, it seems like my dishwasher has an issue and refuses to wash dishes - despite making sounds like diligently doing so.
Let's see if I can find a manual and repair it tomorrow...

water?

@PeterSommerlad Fortunately not (yet).
The washing program doesn't proceed anymore and the sewage water pump doesn't stop pumping. Hence, the only way to stop that is by pulling the plug out of the socket.
If I can repair this today, I'll live with that until next year. Otherwise I need a new machine. Professional repair doesn't make sense with an AEG classic from more than 30 years ago.

a new dish washer will even save on water and energy. I'd suggest a Miele with the cutlery drawer! unless you get such a drawer with other brands today.

@PeterSommerlad I've followed your recommendation to 100% despite other brands having (or offering optional) drawers, too.
Thanks!

good luck with it.

@DanielaKEngert We had an issue where our water return hose split and all the water was dumping on the concrete floor underneath the dishwasher and then running under the cabinets. The dishes were getting wet, but not clean. And, we had to tear out some of our cabinetry. Not fun.
Hope your issue is less destructive than ours was.
