Congrats on writing a post on antisemitism that is incredibly antisemitic.

Some of the antisemitic tropes:

• Starting off talking about how this is about the Israel/Gaza war rather than what happened in Amsterdam

• Blaming Muslims (aka Arabs) for the antisemitic attacks, rather than taking account for the Christian/white Dutch people

• Ignoring all the antisemitism already present in Amsterdam and pretending this is a one off occurrence

• Talking about Jews as a "religion" rather than as a People

• Implying that antisemitism is because of "the media" (aka Jewish control of the media)

• Talking about Trump and other geopolitical issues, once again framing this as a "geopolitical" issue rather than antisemitism.

• Talking about pro-Palestinian protests, framing antisemitism as silencing Palestinian voices.

You could have said everything you said without the antisemitism, but you chose this road instead.

Gross. 🤮

From my side, and as a counterpoint to the prev reply guy, I thought this was a decent outline of the events, hasbara narrative, pushback from citizen journalists and kneejerk from the right wing. I don't see the wholesale antisemitism the prev commenter identifies, although there's some conflation of Jewishness and Israeliness, particularly around the assertion that Jews deserve be able to take vengeance for Oct 7th, and that Israel can unilaterally determine this.

and a quick aside: Bender did do good work covering the protests but his more usual beat is attending left wing protests and being an edgy reactionary (homophobic, borderline racist). Just a heads up.

@anilmc Well said. Yes, I saw signs of that pretty quickly even in the opening of that video. However, I am still going to give his channel a try for the Nederlands oefening and to try and better understand the Dutch equivalent of toxic lad culture. I hate the pranks and the fireworks and yes the racism, but I love learning about the culture, from high to low. Thanks for the comment!
