I just reread this IPCC report thought again that while we need tackle many issues to reduce greenhouse emissions, it is energy production where the biggest gains are. Getting off fossil fuels and electrifying everything should remain the primary focus.

@Lats I read Saul Griffith's book "The Big Switch" where he says exactly that, and that it would be quick and easy to do.
