My automation setup still needs tweaking. Seems I got power poles hooked up but I got the "one of your power grids has shut down".Im still on biofuel to run my stuff.

Just wondering if maybe I need to utilize both biomass burners on my HUB to run this many (9) machines. (note: Im not doing any overclocking of any machines in this current time. ) #Satisfactory

@Catwoman69y2k

That specific alert (new to SF 1.0 AFAIK) is how I learned that somehow one of my grids got severed from the other. In a testament to my groups' inherent redundancies, the "orphaned" grid had enough reserve power and fuel for its power plants to run for quite some time before we got alerted to the issue and found the severed power line (:

@DopeGhoti So, were you running your overall setup from one biomass burner, or two biomass burners?

Heh.

At that point, one set of Biomass burners backing up at least three or four coal power plants that have sprung up around the map.

I'm playing with some friends on a dedicated server that I run for us.

@DopeGhoti Okay. In my case, I do not have coal power yet. I am smelting some coal that my miners are pickng up, than turning that into Rods and plates. I just have the 2 biomass burners that are on the back of my HUB. I got only one running right now. Generally how many machines is reasonable to hook to a single biomass burner? (Wondering if I just need to split the power distro between both of my burners.

@Catwoman69y2k

The answer to "how many" really depends on the power draw. Theoretically as many as you like if you're only running a few machines at a time, but if you run them concurrently you'll quickly reach the limit of the two HUB burners and pop your fuse.

The really nice thing about Burners is their main distinguishing feature- they self-underclock their burn rate to only make as much power as you need; no other power generators do that. They're either running full-tilt¹ ,or they are not.

¹: Notwithstanding underclocking once you have that tech.
