Current ongoing WIP: a hanging for my shrine to The Mórrígan. I'll be adding more fabric and more stitching but I'm happy with how it looks so far. #handstitching #devotionalart #polytheist #polytheism

@PNW_Michelle Ah, really beautiful! I tend to be a handwritten person when I want to add something to a shrine or altar, but I'm feeling the draw toward textiles, and this is very inspiring! I love its blocking, and the way the spiral is stitched

@aehdeschaine Thank you! I have some of that fabric you can put through a printer, so I was able to get the spirals really even - when I freehand, everything is super wonky. And often I love that but I had a picture in my head of how I wanted it to look. I'm really enjoying taking my time with this and thinking of Herself as I stitch.

@PNW_Michelle That's so cool!
And that would be a big benefit of stitching. Sometimes, when I'm writing, I accidentally put down the words in my head instead of the words I intended for the page! Which is fine when I want a more flow-driven/guided-by-not-me experience. Not so much when I'm trying to get a specific poem out! Letting the thoughts flow through and into the stitches would be really lovely!

@aehdeschaine it is lovely! And often I also say little prayers or intentions when I stitch, and it feels like those words and thoughts are filling the cloth!
I write poetry for my People too! I wouldn't say it's particularly GOOD poetry but it is part of my devotional practice as well.
