I wish to apologize for white America. I watched the NABJ interview with Trump and NO ONE should have had to sit through having that kind of dogwhistle racism said to their face. His self-own stopped being funny at about 2 minutes and turned to horror. I can't even imagine how much worse it was for those who've had their identity and credentials questioned and demeaned like this, how many times you've heard 'those people' and knew what he meant. I felt sick watching it.

I think very few are actually lost causes. Most are just going with the flow and the White patriarchy they've always known.

It's time to speak up now and break with Trump and the GOP. Sure, he's good at speaking to your pain, but their solutions are vile. He only offers hurting others (and more money for the rich). #Harris is an American, just like Trump, Obama, etc. It's time we start working together. That's how we move forward.

@TCatInReality I do like that but to be completely honest, I've done pages and pages of drawings and I cannot render her in a way that feels right to me. I tend to avoid using photos due to DMCA takedown by people with agendas.
You are right though. Shaming the right is only going to make them dig in deeper. Just angry. I grew up in rural OK in the 1970s surrounded by racists and figured out that was rotten. They should be able to as well. Pretty sure they like being racist. :(

@TCatInReality I wish I could share your optimism. I gave up on my own origin family after trying unsuccessfully for 30yrs to get them to listen to themselves. :(
My relatives were all of the 'we don't say the N word, we say 'those people'' variety of 'I'm not a racist but'
30 years is a long time to leave your heart staked to an anthill. I'm not sure I have enough compassion left to try again.

@TCatInReality Yeah. Thanks. I've actually struggled with that a lot in making political art. Hate is easy both to say and draw but I don't feel good when I make hateful stuff. Loving and thoughtful works require more skill and if I'm honest, more comfort. It's easy to say, 'you kids play nice' when I've nothing at stake but Trump represents a real and present danger to most of the people I love and care about.
