Finished the first version of my #guitar #banjo #uke #bass #freeware #opensource Chord-finding app.

Find/identify chords in any tuning on most instruments with a western scale fretboard.

One caveat. Requires Java JRE 21 or newer. The README has more details.

Runs on #Mac, #Windows and #Linux. May also run on ChromeOS and Android but I didn't test those.

One thing I REALLY hate about Capitalism is how it poisons everyone around me.

Every time I show a new piece of OpenSource software I've written or new work of art I've created or anything else, someone ALWAYS reduces it to money, asking variants of "Where are you going to sell it?"

I'm NOT! FFS! I'm creating the world I want to see not whoring it out.

These questions are always well intentioned so I can't just rip their face off but I'm screaming on the inside every single time.

Possessed of a whim or some sort of mental illness, I decided to write a small cross platform app in Java (having not programmed in java for close to 20 years)

Keep encountering pattern-breaking nonconformant stuff

like for the CLI java/javac, it's -version not --version or -v

Eclipse on Mac doesn't store its settings in /Library or ~/Library but in /Applications/Eclipse

Stuff like that. Makes it feel weird and archaic. Not seeing much evolution in the language itself either so far.

Tried to really strip this down to the essential problem. So, removing the _init() function gets a result of 5 but in either case, its ready function is never hit.

Is it because classy.gd is not in the same scene as container?

I assumed the instance would be implicitly added to the container.

Recently I've seen a number of trans people throwing a fit that Harris only said she'd respect laws supporting us, while the other side is literally demonizing and promising our removal from society.

Dear PoC,

I wish to apologize for white America. I watched the NABJ interview with Trump and NO ONE should have had to sit through having that kind of dogwhistle racism said to their face. His self-own stopped being funny at about 2 minutes and turned to horror. I can't even imagine how much worse it was for those who've had their identity and credentials questioned and demeaned like this, how many times you've heard 'those people' and knew what he meant. I felt sick watching it.

Immigrants aren't taking 'your' jobs. Automation and decentralization are. Musk's big plan for Tesla isn't electric cars, it's AI robots that can replace blue collar workers in all the jobs that industrial robots haven't already replaced them in. Going to trans/dyke march tomorrow.

At less than 48hrs since Trump's conviction, I'm having the most anxiety about it I've had about pride since my first in Oklahoma City in 1991.

Going over checklists of stuff I can do to be alert/aware and keep myself and others safe, just in case.
