Genuinely peeved about the Proton Mail situation, with them kissing the ring and all that. I’m trying to sit on it a little longer so I don’t just make a knee jerk reaction as I have a lot of that email tied up to different things.
I would ask for recommendations, but I feel like there are so so many alternatives that it is all much for muchness. At this rate, I just want a mail provider that isn’t on some sort of crusader, led by a tech bro looking to elevate themselves.

So- latest YouTube shenanigans. I used it on a web browser with ad blocker extension which worked really well. It seems in an attempt to stop that, they’ve now made it so that any time I’m inactive for longer thab 3mins-1 hour, I have to sign in again which involves an annoying loop of 2FA “press yes on this other device”.
Think I’m at the point now where I check YouTube even less, or just browse without an account searching only for specific stuff.
Anyone else experiencing this?

So. My 8yr old got gifted a USB flight joystick for Xmas. I had Flight Simulator 24 installed and ready to go. Holy fuck, I was not prepared for the fact that they have added actual helicopter rescue/coastguard missions now.
As a teenager, on my pirated & cracked version of flight simulator I used to role play & fantasise that I was a helicopter pilot doing rescues on mountain ranges with nothing but a bare mountain and my imagination.
Think my brother secretly got a gift for both of us…

Absolute highlight of the night from playing Void Crew with @innkeeper & @EighthLayer - I was returning back to my gun turret to take my seat as the gunner, only to find it had been deconstructed and hidden by Alex.

Thing is, I really love taking notes with tech, as in, handwriting. I love that I can make handwritten notes that won’t get lost in my pocket somewhere or mislaid, eaten by the dog, etc- I can make important notes that I don’t have to guard with my life whilst still getting to enjoy the feeling of handwriting it. But AI being shoehorned into every possible avenue without a choice in the matter is really making it hard to love.
