How can I make #swimming more interesting? Right now I swim back & forth and every time I take a look at the clock, I’m amazed how little time has passed - it’s so boring 😴

• I can’t listen to music because I can’t take my phone to the pool

• I can’t join a club/team because of time constraints

• I can’t vary my speed very much because I share the lane with others 🦈🐌

Right now I just power through my 30-60 minutes until I feel like I’m “done”, but it feels like a chore & not very enjoyable

After the usual get-together on Christmas Eve, I spent the rest of the evening on my couch finishing “Fear and Trembling” by Belgian author Amélie Nothomb - in French!

It takes me forever to read in French and I doubt I picked up all the little details, but if I don’t practice, I won’t get better at it.

Now off to bed. I hope the book cover won’t give me nightmares.

Welcome back to the EU research programs, Switzerland! Such a relief for many people. 😮 Scientists from the EU can now work together with their colleagues in #Switzerland much, much more easily.

Other parts of this agreement will arguably have more impact on more people’s daily lives, but this is the one news item I’ve been waiting for.
