So far so good #Python 3.11 is stabilising in #Guix.

Rebuild the world, and fix all rough edges after ^20620/v6259

Even packaged NumPy 2 the latest draft! No tests due to some Heisenbug in vendored-meson, why...

I can say it's a language strike!

Maybe I need to add an option showing packages where a given one is in the first level of dependencies.

So far it helps with #python refresh in #guix.

Continue with the #Python challenge on the team branch of #guix, small targets: apply pending related to the team patches, upgrade packages with high ratio impact, stabilise failing chains.

Good news #NumPy is built 1.23.2->1.24.4 with the latest #pytest and #MyPy, any other versions up to 1.26.4 could not be built without a higher level of wizardry.

[#]Pandas has been built on the latest version!

Fixing failing dependency to build #SciPy hoping to refresh it to the latest version when chaning packages are resolved.

70+ commits are in the queue for the python team in #Guix.

Oh Brave New World...

Working on base Python packages refresh in python-team - long chains, jangling with dependencies. Hope bumping to the latest NumPy and friends.

Take a look at the progress so far https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/guix.git/log/?h=python-team

It might be useful for #guix teams to estimate impact after packages refresh.

A lot of #python for the last few days forced me to write some #guile #scheme #lisp 😆

@Siril_Official has released a major update which will be included in the upcoming Astro packages refresh in Guix this month.

Question... why are projects trying to invent a package manager, Siril requires libgit2 to download additional scripts and data resources during the first start up, why not to relay on system package manager instead?

While working on the Guix Astro update for this month I've learned that the source may be closer than expected (7 libraries share the same VCS, depending on each other).

Other findings - the famous Cosmic microwave background image was produced by the software I'm about to pack - HEALPix.
