@Siril_Official has released a major update which will be included in the upcoming Astro packages refresh in Guix this month.
Question... why are projects trying to invent a package manager, Siril requires libgit2 to download additional scripts and data resources during the first start up, why not to relay on system package manager instead?

@sharlatan No major version has yet been released. This is still the development version.
We use libgit2, and therefore the git system, to benefit from the contribution of the user community. This allows us to have new scripts that won't depend on the frequency of Siri releases.

@Siril_Official Thanks for the answer.
I see a new 1.3.3 tag was pushed quite recently
https://gitlab.com/free-astro/siril/-/tree/1.3.3?ref_type=tags maybe it was by
chance.
Is there any option to let Siril relays on already available Data and script
location?It would make user experience more predictable especially in lack of
network connection, or isolated invironment.
Your project is great and had no issue to delivery in Guix for few years already
;-)

@sharlatan This tag was done for a publication we wrote in the Journal of Open Source Software. But odd number (3) means dev version. The next stable version will be 1.4.0.
The use of additional scripts is really optional. It is possible to retrieve them independently and use them.
The JSON files for the spectrophotometric calibration tool are a little different. However, this tool requires an Internet connection to query the GAIA database. Without this, it won't work.
