are there any optimised languages? i mean, so that the language has as few phonemes and words as possible, words and sentences are shortest, but it remains audibly well comprehensive and can express all needed conceptions without overcomplications. i know, esperanto toki pona and lojban are pretty far from that description, and i dont know about any project pursuing similar purposes

[#]opencamera users on #android here? probably #opensource can also be relevant. i've got a new phone today, and it doesnt seem to support multiple cameras in the opencamera app (see screenshot) tho camera2api is enabled. photon camera (also an app from fdroid) does support all the modules (tho it's noice reduction is kinda inferior)

i also dont want to use gcam

maybe there is a way to use all camera modules in opencamera on the phone? (moto s50 / #motorola edge 50 neo)

how do you create your #keyboard layouts in #linux? i'm sure you create your own instead of using boring QWERTY, right? i experimented with layouts a lot, and this tool (https://github.com/simos/keyboardlayouteditor) is awesome for that! unfortunately, it's 16 years old - still working, but hard to install. do you know any similar tools?

i never had an account on twitter

i actually have facebook and instagram accounts but i opened them 1-2 times and forgot passwords

i use russian vkontakte only for university chats, i never open news feeds and rarely look in profiles, and have only two posts (about youtube and kombucha)

my only active social media are youtube (which i watch through piped) and #mastodon

i read home feed, i toot my posts, favorite and comment others'

i prefer subscribing to hashtags instead of people, and have posts to read in the home feed: some news, some memes, some other stuff sometimes

but to think about that, most content i consume here is faceless. thats a bit weird as i myself post, i guess, mostly about myself

is it me, or its hard to find people? when i look into random person accounts, its either 1 toot per month or boosts only. and, being subscribed to hashtags, i rarely see some personal content with those hashtags, mostly news

or i just dont care enough to search for people?

should i try #bluesky or its another twitter (centralized company owned platform that tries to make you anxcious and addicted) (tho maybe i overdemonize it)

why did it come out of nowhere and people talk about it so much? will it go to nowhere or it'll stay? tho mastodon was always in nowhere and its not that i complain much...

ive set up working #nextcloud! but it has a lot of warnings in the about page... maybe they're not that bad tho, idk.

portainer is really great to manage #docker

also, nginx proxy manager to access from home network only and manage reverse proxies, but... every new service needs some configuration, nothing starts working out of the box

tried to set up #gitea, but keep getting " (35) OpenSSL/3.0.14: error:0A00010B:SSL routines::wrong version number" error, i dont know what to do with that, i point my nginx to port 3000, ip seems right (because i can curl it with http but not with https), so idk

maybe there are other https oriented #selfhosted #git projects? like #forgejo, but idk how it works with https, maybe same. maybe you have some advice?

my term paper is in #go #golang, even tho i only have experience with #rust #rustlang. i think it will be interesting to compare those languages experience. the task is to write a streaming platform, like this one https://bigbluebutton.org/

i dont think rust suits well to this kind of project, so i didnt complain about the language choice. the scientific director said i can write it in rust if i want, but i guess it'll be harder

i know there are rust frameworks for web servers, but i dont think that's the language's main purpose, especially when it comes to streaming platforms. maybe i'm wrong?

i poweroffed it ofc so you cant access it. btw, when i try to link an app, i get a link to http://localhost:8080. i think thats because of nginx reverse proxy, but i can work perfectly fine through the browser, it doesnt redirect anywhere. the issue is only with clients. how did i setup #nextcloud: docker compose apache image, simple nginx redirection cloud.... -> localhost:8080. maybe i should instead redirect to cloud...com:8080 or ralen...com:8080? or i should modify the #docker image somehow?

and i cant generate a cert for that domain because its actually a subdomain of ip-ddns.com which has too many certs already

so i registered a free domain ralen.ip-ddns.com, and subdomain cloud for it. i run nextcloud on port 8080 on my laptop and wireguard it to a server in moscow so i have a public ip i can use. i set up a simple nginx reverse proxy so my cloud subdomain points to port 8080. and now, when i enter cloud.ralen.ip-ddns.com in my browser... you know what happens because you can try to! still have to set up ssl certs for https support tho

i guess i'm going with #debian and #docker on my homeserver. they are industry standards after all, so my experience with them might be relevant in my career. and on my nixos journey i understood that i like #sysadmin job actually, when i configure some network rules and software and it works and i can open it on my phone or something. i definitely want more to spend time on that than on learning csharp or writing java homework (i should really write it at some point but... homeserver is not ready yet... its more interesting...)

and all this stuff is not that hard actualy, there are plenty of guides on the internet and official documentation

and i dont have enogh imagination and patience to write some programs, idk there are enough programs already /hj

nah i'm tired of #nixos i should go with something else on my homeserver. it's too unnecessarily hard for me

being able to use official documentation of tools is very valuable actually

so, the experiment failed, nixos is not a suitable for me for any purpose: lack of documentation and unintuitive configuration makes it too hard to use either on homeserver and workstation. every time i try to make something work, i have to: find a nixos guide, then try to adapt it to my usecase, then get some issue, look up that issue on internet, try all the guides and forums, give up and ask chatgpt, it is dumb asf, ask here on mastodon, ask on discord, finally get some answer or get no answer and give up on that feature. not the best kind of experience, you know. why so much people love nixos? didnt they do something complex? or theyre much more smart and patient than i am, idk

so i switched from /etc/nixos/configuration.nix to configuring NetworkManager and it seems to work

but when i enable back the firewall, i have no internet connection! tho i allow my port (51820). why are there bumps on every step of my way?

maybe i dont need a firewall on my client at all?

[#]wireguard is such a pain. or #nixos. yes, i've ordered 2 months for 6$ of remote server. and now i cant even connect to it with my nixos, but perfectly can with android! my ip is my server's ip, and it works with both mobile network and wifi. but on nixos, how hard i try, it doesnt work! clients says it has a handshake but server says it received some bits and sent some bits to client and there was no handshake. i dont know, you can see what i tried with commented lines. config on the left is the downloaded config from wg-easy. anybody has any suggestions, maybe you have nixos connected to wireguard server somehow and can share some practices? i tried connecting from mobile network, but it just doesnt... wait i should try with my archlinux! PS tried it works completely fine. if by tomorrow i wont get any clue about how to make it work on nixos too, im going to install something else (not arch tho, want something more stable on the server, but i'm not sure what exactly, maybe #fedora server idk)
