hey you! yeah, you! the one with data that only exists on CDs you burned in high school!

CDs, especially the ones you burned, have a shelf life.

Make sure you've got that data backed up somewhere.

Please note: step 4 requires a series of bizarre dreams. They've been omitted from the core strategy instructions because they're out of your control.

simple strategy for dealing with jet lag:

  1. go to bed late, to force yourself to wake up late

  1. wake up early anyway

  1. repeat a couple times

  1. without setting an alarm, lie down for a "quick" nap

  1. wake up 4 hours later in a cold sweat

Congratulations! Time no longer has meaning, so you can't technically be jet lagged

I know exactly who needs to hear this:

Spamming in community Slack orgs is not engagement, and only ever makes people view you more poorly.

Doubly so if you spam via DMs.

I have a (half-joking) rule that code I haven't worked on in more than 6 months was functionally written by someone else.

Partially, this is about reminding myself (and person asking me about the code) that I no longer have the context in my head that I did when writing it.

Partially it's this - the way I write code is always changing, and mostly for the better. https://phpc.social/@sarah/112973316182844533
