PSA: you might have seen the warnings that the "ubuntu-latest" GitHub CI runner image tag was changing from 22.04 -> 24.04.

What's perhaps less obvious is that this is a rolling change. In fact, you can end up in a situation where a fork of repo X has ubuntu-latest=22.04 and the upstream at the same rev has ubuntu-latest=24.04

Fresh from the Rustls measurement bench @jpixton has a writeup of some exciting hybrid KX performance testing results:

"We can see that the performance headroom that rustls has attained means we can almost completely absorb the extra cost of post-quantum key exchange, while still performing better than (post-quantum-insecure) OpenSSL -- with the exception of client resumption."
