Even though I am boosting lots of art and photography (and a limited amount of news or political toots) the Inauguration of the Fascist weighs heavily many of us here in the Fediverse. I read today: we can no longer outsource our safety Many are already painfully aware of this from personal experience. The police, the military, the government at all levels have no interest or obligation to protect us. We must protect ourselves. We have a right to self defense. Prepare accordingly.

FYI for people following the UHC CEO shooting. Unlike handguns, which are often not registered because there is no state requirement to do so, suppressors (aka silencers) are subject the NFA and essentially those must be registered with ATF to possess one. If the suspect was found with the suppressor, it won’t be difficult to confirm identity IMO

Driving down a suburban road this afternoon on Saturday errand. On sidewalk young man in athletic wear (running tights and shorts, long sleeve T-shirt) - and wearing a plate carrier. A “bullet proof” vest. Clearly he’s training. No insignia on carrier that I saw.

Watching the game this afternoon was such a joy. Washington hasn’t had a team this talented and well coached since the early 80s. Their quarterback has other-worldly talent. The defensive coordinators will watch enough video to figure him out after a few more games, but he’ll adjust after that. They have a good line to protect him and defense is solid. The long suffering fans deserve this after years of Snyder #Commanders #NFL
