so i looked into pyxel

its fine, but the API is real dumb

the scale function is purposefully altered from the default scale algorithm to re-center the image at its 0,0 position

that means unscaled, a 10,10 image at 10,10 reaches from 10,10 to 20,20. scaled at 1.0x, it is at 5,5 to 15,15

i thought this was a bug so I put one in, immediately someone else chimed in about it, and some month later the developer said "this is to make ease for new user. please understand it."

Sometimes I really regret the #steamdeck . It's not powerful enough to run new games at any sense of fidelity, especially docked, and the streaming functionality from my actually good #gaming PC gets worse every update.

Sometimes I plug my laptop into my TV instead and stream via #steam from that, because the deck won't stop freezing or crashing the stream.

During this holiday season, let me remind you all:

The #Steam #SteamDeck dock is a PIECE. OF. CRAP.

Half the time it will refuse to connect to your Deck, the other half it will only work after a full shutdown from desktop mode (something about resetting the display targets).

Buy one of those cheap USB laptop dockers instead. Saves you about $50 and a ton of headache.

In the #tiled discord it was suggested I contribute to the codebase by writing an additional export format.

The aspie who blabs nonstop said would "definitely save time, and your hard drive too by using one write instead of two"

I already have a tool that handles conversion. I've had it for years.

This is what open source really looks like: you are berated until they realize they really do have a bug, then they tell you to fix it after calling you incompetent. #opensource #coding #gamedev
