So apparently #Section31 is like a movie version of a video game, but without any of the fun parts where you actually get to play a video game.

I've been thinking a lot about this #AI generated chase scene since it came out. It completely fails as a serious film, but I think it is perhaps the best rendition ever created of what it would look like to watch a dream.

Unlike in a human created dream sequence that looks entirely normal but with some discreet random things thrown in, the narrative in this slowly meanders while all the little unimportant details are constantly shifting without a care to consistency.

Boy, I love how #retirement in our culture is basically a game of chance.

Me: Globalism is bad.

Also me: Let's have someone send me a plastic disc from halfway around the world so I can listen to an album on a record player that I can already listen to on my phone.

Wondering whether I should add the Moana soundtrack to my collection on #discogs on the very slim off-chance that someone else in the future again decides that it is a good present for me.

I do agree with nearly every single point in this 3.8 hour long video by @acollierastro on how #Picard got the underlying concepts of #StarTrek entirely wrong.

I think most @acollierastro videos are brilliant, but I disagree with this take. Humanoid #robots make perfect sense in domestic settings because houses are specifically designed for human-shaped beings to move around in, so no alterations would be needed for human-shaped robots.

I do agree heavy robots would make no sense, so they would likely be plastic or such. Battery life can be boosted by having induction charging pads in places the robot often stands.

Any articles blathering on about BirthRates are eugenicist bullshit. We've got a line of people out the door to get into the United States (at least for now) and could grow our population as much as we want, unless of course you view non-white people as undesirable.

(Not linking because #Fortune doesn't deserve any additional clicks for this bullshit.)

Great that we are making progress on turning heat into electricity, but doing so by creating and then immediately absorbing light seems like a circuitous way to get there.

Absolutely brilliant review. Especially the part where they put a bunch of #GenerativeAI garbage at the end for SEO and just tell the humans to stop reading before then.

So the growth of #GenerativeAI models is slowing because the entire corpus of human knowledge is not enough information for them to work with, but at the same time it is not as smart as a first-grader yet?
