As it turns out, the abrasion is old, since Sol 1360. I did check to see if that was the case, but absentmindedly only for Sol 1359, when the rover had previously arrived at that same location. My apologies for that.
The fact that the rover returned to a location that's been already examined, along with the change of site number, may be indications that we may see another sample taken from this area.

And, if I'm reading #NASA's article right, the reason for revisiting South Arm is because of the presence of serpentine-bearing rocks, for which #Perseverance's science team is showing "overwhelming interest", forcing the rover's tactical team to respond accordingly by altering the original plan.
Thanks to Nicolas Randazzo, Postdoctoral Scientist at University of Alberta, we now know why things are happening the way they do in the #Mars2020 mission.
