I started reading the Spelunky book by Derek Yu, the designer of the game. I expected to just learn more about game design, especially in the context of procedural generation.
From the first chapter I see a way one could choose to make an innovative and fun (and too difficult for me) game without a lot of resources. As a player, I knew at the time more recent clones of the games that inspired Spelunky.
In addition to that I'm now aware of Lara Croft being indirectly inspired by Donald Duck.

So often I look up posts on their original instance, as media attachments somehow don't appear (they might appear after I favorite the post, but not always). (Previously I checked only if they had four images, as Mastodon ignores the rest.) I don't know the keywords to find if this is a known bug.
Also the profile buttons have changed, so now I no longer know if I follow someone or have a pending follow request, https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/32680.

Disabling hair strands fixes the crashes. I'm still anxious about the black loading screens, they momentarily look as if the computer crashed.
After playing for two hours, I feel the game is fun and much less overwhelming than DAI or BG3. The start of the story seems to better match what I remember from the previous games than usual sequels.
My Rook looks like a nonbinary good boy.

I now understand why people spend a lot of time in the character creator of this game. For me it crashes after customizing the hair of my pretty character, and there is no autosave.
I usually start a DA game with a human and then lose interest (possibly after 130 hours of fun). Now I might choose a human or elf depending on the parity of crashes.

I like the ABBA song, but I wouldn't do much with a man after midnight. The work schedule makes me too tired to effectively read Unix manuals at that time.

Starting to watch Star Trek TNG, I feel Discord is much more in character than Professor X.

I wondered what species Crash Bandicoot is. Now I know that bandicoots exist and look cute. (More precisely, the character is an eastern barred bandicoot.)
The developers of the game succeeded at making someone learn about bandicoots.

I started reading Unmasking Autism by Devon Price. Seeing that it's written by an autistic (and trans) social psychologist made me immediately buy the book, as I (correctly) expected it to be more reliable than one of an allistic author.
I like the frequent comparisons to queer experiences. And the autistic explanation of why (like a vampire) I likely won't go to a new restaurant unless invited.
Thanks @kuneau for posting about the book, it is interesting.

I think I'm too tired for tea if I pour the cold water into the cup with tea leaves and not into the kettle.

To fact-check a dream, I read about the history of handheld games.
It's weird that the Wikipedia section of "Handhelds today" mentions Brick Game which I played in 1990s. That seems too long ago to be "today" with gaming hardware.
(When I say I never had a game console, this now refers only to devices with replaceable/editable game storage that also aren't a Steam Deck or a mobile phone.)

I'm an European most likely to write about #furry things or #VideoGames (when not too busing working or playing). I enjoy #programming (it's work) and #drawing (which I don't practice enough).
My fursona differs from my human self by being a dog and openly #gay.
I mostly read #fvn, #WebComics and in some months a #fantasy or #sf series.
I write in #English, while I might share some relevant trivia about the #Polish language.
