Is there something odd in the Mastodon server for infosec.exchange, @support @jerry ?
I have only chosen a handful of selected languages in Preferences -> Other -> Filter languages .... but I get posts in the Home section from all kinds of languages regardless. It didn't use to be that way before.
What did I do wrong?

Anyone having an idea how to get #MP4 playback working in #LibreWolf on #rhel10 beta?
I have a strong hunch it's related to ffmpeg ... librewolf complains about NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR and Couldn't open avcodec:. I tested #rpmfusion on an AlmaLinux 9 box, and it works fine there with the same kind of packages installed there - but ffmpeg seems to be crux anyhow.
I do have the #oneplay codec pack from #fluendo installed as well, to no avail.

There is one concern with such fully automated updates, though ... supply chain attacks.
I do need to fully trust that the infrastructure the TurrisOS update framework relies on is safe and secure. If this framework is compromised, it could easily spread malware quickly.

I remember I was disappointed when setting up this device about half a year ago, regarding the lacking #nftables support But I saw they were working on this, to migrate to it in a coming update.
Today I logged into the LuCI interface to change the firewalling slightly. Just to check everything was as expected, I did an iptables-save dump. And it came out empty. And the realising it was all properly setup in the nft ruleset dump instead.
The router had rebooted about a week ago, something I didn't notice at all. Which means it's running a fully up-to-date OS and packages without any interactions at all.
This is generally just wonderful!

I must say I'm impressed by the work NIC.cz has done on the #Turris and #TurrisOS.
It has upgraded fully automated, switched from the iptables based firewall to nft, rebooted at night (which is what I configured it to do on upgrades) ... and everything is working as expected out-of-the-box.
That is just excellent engineering work!

I have a question about #RedHat #RHEL Beta ... it's a decade since I ran a beta release - which was only for a short time; it was for testing purpose only.
I'm contemplating to install RHEL 10 Beta on a new machine instead of RHEL9. Can the beta release be upgraded to the full release once released? Or would that require a full reinstall?
I can handle a bit roughness during the beta phase. But I'd like to avoid upgrading from RHEL9 to RHEL10, as I believe that's a bigger upgrade in the end.

I honestly would love if #media stopped forwarding whatever nonsense #Trump utters.
Trump is clever with media. He says all of that BECAUSE he gets the media attention. He doesn't care about facts or truth. He does it ONLY for the attention. He does it to avoid other opinions or viewpoints getting any attention.
What's even worse ... The sane, calm and more truthful facts drowns and doesn't get any attention. It's all "Trump said this", " Trump said that", "Trump did that". Instead of really supporting a healthier discussion of the real issues #USA has.
When all of the mainatream media are so dumbfuck stupid not realising this ... You don't get a real honest and truthful #USelection. It's a pure media circus with an unpredictable outcome. Just to get clicks and viewers.
It's so absurdly stupid. And I wonder if anyone in charge in media houses will ever have the courage to admit this insanity.
This #election will backfire regardless of the outcome. Where media's consciousnessless behaviour will have a tremendous responsibility in the divide in the population.

TL;DW: If you can disable #2G and #3G on your phone, do that. And use encrypted Internet based services as much as possible for texting and calls, like @simplex or @signalapp ... SS7 provides location tracking capabilities without GPS, interception and spoofing of both calls and text messages - at an affordable price for scammers (a few thousand $ per month).
