it is not proper to leave the children alone with all this. I have read a lot in my time and certainly also hard stuff earlier as I should have, that's why I know this is not healthy. Adding to other trauma that happened in my life, the consumption of horror stories etc. at an inappropriate age without guidance has left me somehow broken, not fit for relationships of any kind.
We should do something about this.
I don't mean censorship.
It has to start earlier.
Systematically.
Globally.

Kids learn that they have to fight & that there are no consequences, if someone is hurt or killed. The same with #Pokemon and similar games/films/serials, the latest gruesome one #SquidGame coming from Asia. Not only, that kids mostly don't understand the different culture and background of some of the monsters or festivities, they are often left alone with strange ideas. And even, if the cruelties, hate, racism and misogyny derive from Western authors (see Harry Potter & Co.),

Just watched Looney Tunes on #CITV and I am appalled by how violent those stories are. People are being sliced with knives, saws & whatever is at hand. They are "fed" to lions or blown up with dynamite. The same with The Daltons over on #France3 – violence & hate everywhere. And those are viewed by little kids, who will be insensitive by the time they've grown up. No wonder that crimes and manslaughter are so high in numbers nowadays.

On the one hand I agree: no women, no trouble of men wanting women for themselves (as property).
Positive aspect: No women or girls being mistreated & abused by men (and killed in the process).
On the other hand: no women, no Man at all. Which might be a good thing for any other living cell on this planet.

Just watched "It's a Wonderful Life".
And a thought occurred to me:
If people in many countries have the constitutional right to dignity and to be seen as independent and free-willed beings, why is self-determined suicide classified as a criminal offense in the laws of those same countries? (Not to mention that it is difficult to punish someone after a successful suicide.)
It is a paradox.

Habe gerade "It's a wonderful life" gesehen.
Dabei kam mir ein Gedanke:
Wenn der Mensch in vielen Ländern doch das verfassungsmäßige Recht auf Würde hat und darauf, als eigenständige und willensbestimmte Wesen wahrgenommen zu werden, warum ist dann der selbstbestimmte Suizid in den Gesetzen eben dieser Länder als strafbar eingestuft? (Ganz davon abgesehen, dass es schwierig ist, jemanden nach erfolgreichem Suizid zu bestrafen.)
Das ist doch paradox.

Wo wir doch selbst vorher noch jeder den Großeinkauf für über die Feiertage erledigt hatten… Am Schluss hat jeder von uns (auch der Kumpel) eine Packung mitgenommen. Die Brötchen sind ja zum Glück einfach einzufrieren.
Fazit dieses Abends:
Ich habe mich mit meinem Bruder gezofft, mache meiner Mutter Sorgen, weil ich mich nicht wohl gefühlt habe (was mich wiederum stresst), habe etwa 4 Stunden verplempert, in denen ich "Doctor Who at the Proms 2024" auf BBC hätte genießen können.

Dann -- mittendrin, ohne Vorbereitung (normalerweise setzen wir uns dafür vom Esstisch weg in einer kleinen Runde zusammen) -- hat meine Mutter die Geschenke verteilt und meine Schwägerin hat gleich mitgemacht.
In meinem Geschenk (dessen Großteil eigentlich in den Kühlschrank gehört hätte, wer weiß, wie lange das schon im Warmen lag) war unter anderem eine große Flasche Eierlikör drin. Gut, sie kennt mich noch nicht sooo lange, aber ich mag den nicht. -1
