Just watched "It's a Wonderful Life".
And a thought occurred to me:
If people in many countries have the constitutional right to dignity and to be seen as independent and free-willed beings, why is self-determined suicide classified as a criminal offense in the laws of those same countries? (Not to mention that it is difficult to punish someone after a successful suicide.)
It is a paradox.
